‘ The world doesn’t need another website.
It doesn’t need another app or a network.
What it needs is really basic. LOVE. ‘
It was the year 2010, and a recently graduated Hannah Brencher had found a way out of her depression.
The city of New York came alive with the lights of pieces of paper tucked in the most mundane of places. Letters to strangers, all of them saying the same crazy, beautiful sentence-
‘If You Find This Letter, It’s Yours.’
In the course of the next few months, Hannah called out to everybody on her social media account- promising a letter to anybody who asked for one.
400 letters went to the mail that year.
All from one person, all to strangers.
It is this power of letters that fuels a global organisation today- The World Needs More Love Letters.
Hannah founded More Love Letters in the year 2011.
The idea is simple.
People struggle.
There are some among us that could do with a little love.
Our families. Friends.
People all over the world nominate their beloveds for a bundle- and the world writes back.
And thus goes on the journey, with requests pouring in constantly, and answers being written back, constantly.
Today, the organisation has spread its wings to the harbors of the young, with the mission being taken forward by college students under the project, Campus Cursive.

‘Letter-writing will never again need to flip back her hair and talk about efficiency,
Because she is an art form now- all the parts of her.’
