Based in Boston, USA, Matt Kaliner spends his free time building ethereal, beautifully strange sand castles. A sociologist at Harvard University, Matt says, “I don’t know much about photography, but I like making sand castles at the beach.” He puts into use the drip castle method that we all loved as children. Once when a stranger e-mailed a stunning click of one of his sandcastles, he decided to bring his camera along and share his castles with the world. Matt’s sand castles are unlike any ordinary sand castle but consists of arches, twists, juts and climbs that are sometimes suspended midair. Motivated entirely by the sheer joy of playing on the beach, he simply put, makes something out of what he can find that day.
