Step Aside, Smiley Faces: The Frida Kahlo Emoji is Here

Who doesn’t adore Frida Kahlo? Celebrating one of the most artistic, liberal and brave women of the world, Sam Cantor, a  designer from Los Angeles has created a Frida Kahlo emoji. The emoticon is part of a project implemented by Cantor Fine Art.

In a perfect mash-up between Art History and and pop-culture the firm has also created emojis for other great artists such as Vincent Van Gogh and Salvador Dali. Sadly since the entire campaign started off as a joke, there is no downloadable extension yet but with illustrations so spot on- we wish we could use these on chat every day!

The emoji collection also includes depictions of artists like Basquiat and his famous hairdo, as well as modern emoji interpretation of famous pieces like Marcel Duchamp’s Fountain .

While we enjoy the creative renderings of the artist we also wish that some kind man in the emoji manufacturing business reads this up and makes these beauties for real!
