We often turn a blind eye towards things that disturb us. People all over the world seem to be taking it upon themselves to spank the numb behinds of all these sleeping beauties. These creative everyday products have been taken up a notch by adding creatively hidden social messages.
1. MAKING A STATEMENT WITH TOTE BAGS
Afraid of Islam? Living in fear of your Muslim neighbour because she/he might be a terrorist? Or rapist? It’s no longer just your neighbour! Say hello to people embracing Arabic culture along with fashion and comfort as a slap on your anti-Semitic face. Rock Paper Scissors (a graphic design studio based in Haifa, Israel) has designed pure cotton tote bags which can be delivered to your homes after an online order.

Journalist Nader Al-Sarras from Berlin was compelled to share these with the world after discovering them on his way to work. The bags went viral via Facebook with over 35k likes and 15k shares. It outright damns discrimination as plain ridiculous. Check them out here.
2. PAPER TOWNS: HARD-HITTING NAPKIN DISPENSERS
Ever visited a public restroom, finished your business, washed your hands and taken out three paper towels instead of one, guilt-free? Well, the people of Denmark can no longer do so. All this hubbub because of a little creative doodle on the regular paper towel dispenser.

Simon Wooller, Cliff Kagawa Holm, Silas Jansson of Saatchi & Saatchi, Copenhagen, Denmark have managed to remind the city of global warming by something as simple as this. One literally sees a green planet turning black because of wasting paper. We all know it, we hear it, we read it, but that visual image sticks.
To make people realize that saving the planet starts with them saving paper, we took a standard paper dispenser and made a simple modification with green foil and the silhouette of South America. This allowed us to prove that the survival of the forest is directly connected to what people consume.
3. PLASTIC BAGS: CHOKE EM WITH YOUR BARE HANDS
Paper bags tear so easy and for this reason we all prefer plastic bags. It’s bad but, well, convenience, right? Global Action in the Interest of Animals (GAIA) won’t let it be an easy choice anymore. Duval Guillaume creates the illusion of choking animals whilst holding the handle of these bags. Now you will stay up all night and think about all those turtles that are going to swallow the plastic that you disposed irresponsibly. Ha. Ha.

Plastic bags kill. Keep our oceans clean.
The concept slowly spread from just bags to ash trays, magazine covers, and the likes of it so you’re burning and cutting open innocent animals with your bare hands. We move and breathe killing the environment one bag at a time, uncomplicated. A product like this comes your way like a wake-up call making one acutely aware of their own violence.

4. LIGHTERS TO REMIND YOU OF MUKESH’S LUNGS
Would you smoke if your skin turned black like your lungs do? Six Inches partnered with Courage India, a leading NGO to bring your lung damage out of your ribs and into the open. They’ve suspended lighters in the shape of giant lungs at various ‘panvadis’ or cigarette shops. The lungs keep turning blacker with each cigarette that is lit. We’re all desensitized to those disturbing explicit puss-full lung images on the boxes so here’s some stimuli. Enjoy your cigarette!
Light up your lungs.
