Here’s How Paula Schiau Immortalizes Nature In Her Flower Jewellery.

Flowers wilt and wither and lose their charm; they perish to never be the marvels of nature they are, lose their charm over the days they blossom.

But not the ones used by Paula Schiau for her flower jewellery.

A graphic designer from Romania, Schiau combines art and nature to create pieces that are, quite simply, out of this world. She makes jewellery from dried flowers and resin, an idea that has never really been experimented with before, which just shows how creative she really is.

All her jewellery is made with handmade molds. She pours resin in these, and after that is cured, she sands and polishes each and every piece. The results? Gorgeous pieces of jewellery that mesmerize even the cynic.

She is, quite literally, a living example of the saying “Follow your passion.” An art student in college, she always liked producing simple beaded jewellery for herself. It was only after her parents and those close to her encouraged her to display her jewellery to the world that she took up her talent and hobby further which resulted in the birth of Resity, Beauty Made of Resin, her Etsy shop in 2012. It has, till date, sold over 2500 pieces of the fabulous jewellery she makes and has over 11,000 admirers of her work.

She uses several kinds of flowers for her jewellery. Buttercups, Queen Anne’s lace flowers, daisies and, of course, roses are used to make rings, bracelets, necklaces, earrings and cuff links. She’s even used blue moss for a piece! These are encapsulated in dainty glass vials which are sometimes sealed with resin for added strength and security so you can be sure your piece will last and last, like all good jewellery does.

A glance at her Etsy page is enough to want to own every piece she has made available. Her jewellery is whimsical, adorable and gorgeous. The glass vials speak of romance and the rustic chains used for the pendants send a flood of nostalgia through you. The flowers exhibit elegance and charm without being overly extravagant.

In several of her products, you can choose the metal and length of the chain. Also, since these are all handmade by her, there are slight differences in each product which not just simply adds to their appeal but also ensures your piece is absolutely unique, even if someone else has the same piece as you!

These make wonderful accessories that can take any outfit to a whole new level. They are intricate and exquisite, sophisticated but fun and above all, attractive, voguish and so different from the jewellery you normally see.

These would make lovely gifts, she says. We’re not quite sure about that; we’d probably buy these for gifting purposes and end up not giving them to the person we bought them for. After all, who can part with such beauty?
