Brett Patman Captures The Beauty In Abandoned Houses and Buildings

Photographer Brett Patman, in his ongoing project ‘Lost Collective’ has captured images depicting decaying places, ranging from old power stations to forgotten construction sites, in an attempt to track down abandoned buildings across Australia. We are surrounded by forgotten environments that are left to be reclaimed by nature. We walk past some of these every day without ever seeing past the boarded up windows, but Patman, through his photography wants to show what’s on the other side of the boards. Brett Patman believes there’s inherent beauty in each of these forgotten places and has tried to capture not just how they looked, but how they felt. Each of these images were set in dark tones with an eerie atmosphere telling a story from the past and in some cases a plan for the future.
