Pat Perry: A Venture Into Everyday Surrealism

Traveling over a course of thousands of miles, artist Pat Perry has always been dedicated to imbibing new things and taking firsthand experiences. Hitchhiking, hopping on trains and riding motorcycles to places all over America, he has a sketchbook full of memories from places that have left him breathless. An art school dropout who loves chasing limits and travelling to explore the unknown, Perry believes that you get to learn plenty about yourself and the world you live in when you do things on your own.

The artist from the city of Grand Rapids, Michigan, documents his travel experiences and interprets them in the form of illustrations and sketches. Pencils, ballpoint pens and technical pens being his tools of choice, he creates uniquely detailed art, some of which features silhouettes of people filled with images and stories that seem to represent his travel memoirs. Pat Perry loves interacting with strangers, getting to know their stories and filtering these onto paper in his own unique brilliance. A lot of his work is based on themes which feature people, houses and nature.
