In a world where most of us start the battle for the Middle Earth on a daily basis with our sharpeners, the source of everything evil made to mock you, some unequivocally incredible artists have mastered the art of carving sculptures out of Crayola crayons and pencil tips. Don’t believe me? Take a look at these marvels balanced right on the tip of that iceberg.
These intricate wonders were handcrafted by Vietnamese artist, Diem Chau. Taking inspiration from Native American folklore, the artist has metamorphosed something as ordinary as crayons and pencils into something jaw dropping and extraordinary. Where most of us have trouble staying within the lines with these common mediums, she has shown a remarkable and truly frightening level of accuracy and skill, more than enough for us at The Yellow Sparrow to stop and smell the wax.
As surprising as it sounds though, she is not alone in this endeavor of hers. Another artist by the name of Hoang Tran delves in the same beautiful complexities as Diem Chau does. Again using wax crayons and probably tiny tiny tools, he carves out famous TV and movie characters cool enough to make any pop culture enthusiast squeal with unrestrained joy. His level of unmatchable coolness starts from The Simpsons, passes Darth Vader along the way to the Batcave and covers everything in between.
