Have you ever thought of recreating the great artworks of Leonardo Da Vinci and Vincent Van Gogh?
Maybe.
But with oatmeal?
Nope, we neither.
Honestly, we thought that the sole purpose of their existence was to fill our stomachs.
Setting her talent apart from the rest of the world, artist Sarah Rosado, a resident of Manhattan, New York re-created numerous famous paintings of artists, using oats. Her series, titled Portrait Oats, is a super creative take on iconic paintinngs.
Sarah was interested in art since she was 5 years of age. Scribbling in her notebook she improved on her talent, which at times got her into trouble. Not confining her talent just to pencil, Sarah also has expertise in computer technology, where she mastered in the paint shop program. Through her pictures, she aimed at creating an illusion in the eyes of the viewers and blew the minds of the beholders. Her pictures are always open ended and evoke different interpretations.
Creating this project was very exciting. Many long hours and hard work were put into it.
Sarah’s biggest passion was the art in her life. Her uncle, an artist himself was her major inspiration. He always encouraged, advised, supported and believed in her talent. His backing groomed her art, empowering her to create jaw-dropping creations which left everyone drooling.
It was the idea of using oats as a food medium to recreate some of the most amazing images of our old masters the real engine that drove me to challenge myself to do something different, new and fun.
Sarah Rosado has re-created from oatmeal paintings such as the ‘Mona Lisa’ by Leonardo Da Vinci, a great artist, mathematician, inventor and writer. She has also successfully re-created ‘Starry night’, a self-portrait by Vincent Van Gogh. Her work has been featured in many television shows and press including The Today Show, The New York Post, MTV, Daily Mail, Huffington Post, Yahoo News, Cosmopolitan Magazine and many others.
